Emerald Hill Tactile Therapies - Your Health In Good Hands

The Therapies

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a traditional natural therapy that recognises the importance of using natural remedies, including herbal and nutritional medicine, to aid in the healing process. Its supporting philosophy views the human being as multi-dimensional: body, mind, spirit/vital force.

Remedial Massage

Includes a variety of techniques such as Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and stretching techniques to treat soft tissue dysfunction or injury and to improve range of motion of joints including those of the spine.

Sports Massage

Incorporates a variety of techniques for pre-event preparation and post-event recovery, as well as remedial treatment and maintenance support during training periods

Therapeutic Relaxation Massage

Lighter, more general massage that not only relaxes tired, aching bodies and promotes a feeling of well-being, but also serves to relieve pain and reduce stress.

Bowen Therapy / Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST)

Originally developed by Thomas Ambrose Bowen of Geelong, this deceptively gentle manipulation of the soft tissues provides profound and effective results in treatment not only of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction but also provides symptomatic relief of many internal disorders.

Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) was a development of the latest work of Tom Bowen.

Direct Release Myofascial Technique

A slow deep tissue technique designed to release adhesions that form between the muscles and the fascia that comprises the sheath that surrounds and supports the muscles. Adhesions can occur due to a number of causes including disease and injury. The technique is used to restore proper function of musculoskeletal structures and also promotes improved circulation and other bodily processes. It can also have a remarkably relaxing effect.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

A very light and methodical therapy that works specifically with the lymph nodes and the subcutaneous structures which contain many of the lymph vessels. The Lymphatic System is the body's "garbage disposal and re-cycling system", and as such, is the mainstay of the body's Immune System. Stimulation or drainage of the lymphatic flow assists with these processes, and has a profound effect on musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain as well as on restoring or maintaining the proper function of internal organs and systems. It is very effective in the reduction of cellulite.

Lymphatic drainage can be very beneficial in preparing for and recovering from surgery, and in reducing post-surgical scarring and the risk of post-surgical infection.

 Clinical Aromatherapy

Not “just sniffing sweet-smelling oils” – this is a form of phyto-medicine, using the essential oils extracted from plants in external applications for the treatment of a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal aches and pains through to medically-diagnosed skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Applications may include single oils or blends, in baths, compresses or creams. For some respiratory conditions including colds and bronchitis, inhalations may be recommended. The essential oils used in Emerald Hill Tactile Therapies are of the purest and highest therapeutic quality, and are available only to qualified practitioners.
